Acne is an inflammatory disease of the skin, caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units (structures of the skin which consists of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland). Acne lesions are commonly referred to as pimples, blemishes, plooks or "zits.Acne is most common during adolescence, which affects more than 85% of adolescents, and often continues into adulthood. [2] For most people, acne diminishes over time and tends to disappear, or at least diminish, after one reaches their early twenties. There is, however, no way to predict how long it will take to disappear completely, and some people continue to suffer from acne decades later at thirty and forty and beyond.

There’s a lot of myth and misunderstanding about acne.

Exactly why some people get acne and some do not is not fully known. It is known to be partly hereditary. Several factors are known to be linked to acne:

    * Family history
    * Hormonal activity, such as menstrual cycles and puberty
    * Stress, through increased output of hormones from the adrenal (stress) glands.
    * Hyperactive sebaceous glands, secondary to the three hormone sources above.
    * Accumulation of dead skin cells.
    * Bacteria in the pores, to which the body becomes ‘allergic’.
    * Skin irritation or scratching of any sort will activate inflammation.
    * Use of anabolic steroids.
    * Any medication containing halogens (iodides, chlorides, bromides),
       lithium, barbiturates, or androgens.
    * Exposure to high levels of chlorine compounds, particularly chlorinated dioxins,
       can cause severe, long-lasting acne, known as Chloracne.

From Joan Marie Moss

If you are not suffering from depression you, it is likely that anywhere from 15 to 50 of every 100 people you know. This is an insidious disease that sucks an individual and yet still in a state of "impotence" and at the same time impacts on the welfare of all those who come into contact with him or her. The numbers offered here are a bit ambiguous, because depression is only recently recognized as a real disease and not a figment of his imagination.

Diane, who was suffering from depression for more than 11 years, is one of those who are willing to talk about his illness. She says: "Most people are still very surprised that I accept and are willing to speak openly of my depression. There is still a stigma associated with the disease. People still do not understand. "For this reason, we do not use real names in this article, even though the people who have shared their stories are very real.

The incidence of this disease are impressive. An estimated 10 to 14 million Americans suffer from depression, according to a recent article in the Alliance for the Mentally Ill publication. Other estimates range as high as 35 to 40 million euros.

No one is immune from an attack of depression. Keep in mind that everyone feels "down" or "blue" at times. This is normal. But it was estimated that 26 out of 100 women and 12 men out of 100 will have a major depressive episode at least once in their lives. For the creative workers estimate increases to 38 out of 100.

Before launching into a fast, it’s a good idea to begin preparing the body a week ahead. Cut out or reduce nicotine, alcohol, caffeine, sugar and wheat. Ideally the diet prior to fasting should consist mainly of fruits, vegetables and beans. If you’ve never fasted before it might be a good idea to limit your first fast to three or four days. Sometimes abstaining from food entirely is a bit much, so it’s ok to eat fresh fruit or veggies if your stomach is complaining. Now its time to get juicing! If you can’t make your own juices buy them from a health food shop – the fresher, the better. The GreenPower Kempo juicer is another excellent juicer that produces high quality juices to help you to get the best possible result from your fast. Mix between one and three parts of pure water with your juice of choice. To get you started, here a few tasty recipes courtesy of Fasting to Freedom, by Tom McGregor:

If you combine the minimal physical activities that children nowadays do with the fact that they eat fast food chains are everywhere, the results is not surprising. A huge number of kids suffering from obesity and other diseases associated with this condition.
So the question is, what can the parents do about their children’s condition? Well, the first thing you should know about dieting is that it is usually not good for children. However, it can be safe and even improve the health of your kid if dieting is properly supervised by a doctor or a nutritionist. In some cases though, an overweight kid may not really be a problem since his height may catch up with his weight and this will give him a proportioned body.
